about us
Chiarastella Cattana is a textile designer who founded her space in Venice in 2002, combining contemporary sensibility with traditional Italian craftsmanship.
After achieving a long career in the development and design of yarns and artefacts for fashion in Milan, she decided to move to Venice where she focused on her own projects, putting technique and intelligence at the service of international clients and designers.
Her curatorial approach ensures that everyone who enters her world—much like in a Renaissance workshop—can learn from her expertise and find inspiration in selecting textiles for their home and daily life. Incorporating the spirit of arts and crafts of timeless design.
The studio consistently collaborates with manufacturing companies across Italy's finest districts, from south to north, working with small and medium-sized enterprises that help preserve trades and knowledge. In fabrics, she perceives not only color and shape, but a weave of gestures and memory, where every fiber preserves the hand that crafted it, and every object speaks to time, matter, and the senses.
Her Venetian space glued people together through rituals, whether these be a shared cup of tea or the urban parade; through mentoring, through face-to-face sharing of information. Conceived as a workshop where creation and commerce blend, it is an island within an island, a concept store that, beyond showcasing her own designs, brings together carefully selected garments and refined design objects.
