Crafting Forward for Valcucine by Zanellato Bortotto.

Crafting Forward for Valcucine by Zanellato Bortotto.

Developed together with Valcucine and the studio Zanellato/Bortotto, this project brought to life a series of textiles conceived exclusively for the Valcucine showroom in Milan. Reinterpreting the company’s heritage and logo, we embroidered a selection of napkins and developed, for the first time, a series of Pantry Sacks dedicated to salt, sugar and flour.

In occasion of Fuorisalone 2026, Valcucine — Main Sponsor of the Brera Design Week — opened the doors of its showroom in Corso Garibaldi 99, in the heart of Brera, presenting Crafting Forward, a project exploring the encounter between industrial innovation and contemporary craftsmanship.

The concept, interior project, material and color research, materioteca and styling were curated by Zanellato/Bortotto together with Valcucine. The installation constructed a dialogue between craftsmanship and technology without oppositions, highlighting collaborations with manufacturers and workshops sharing the same culture of making and savoir faire.

Conceived as part of this broader material landscape, our intervention moved between embroidery, domestic rituals and textile objects connected to the kitchen environment, expanding our ongoing exploration of textile as both functional object and narrative surface.
