Delicate embroidery in a historical stitch. The stem stitch has been found in Egyptian and Peruvian funerary artefacts dating back to the 14th century BC and 600-200 BC respectively. It is a stitch using repeated straight points, in which each stitch joins the previous one to form a rope-like line, either curved or straight. Although it may appear simple, perfecting this technique requires skill and practice.
