Shibusa is a japanese word referring to an aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty. It is an enriched, subdued appearance or experience of intrinsically fine quality, achieved through an economy of form, line, and effort, producing a timeless tranquility. The colours of shibusa are “muddy” colours, with gray added to primary colours to create a silvery effect that ties the different colours together.
