"Casa Check" tea towel

"Casa Check" tea towel

The gingham pattern, known for its distinctive checked design typically in two colors, originated in south-east Asia and gained popularity in western fashion during the 17th century. The origin of the word gingham isn’t quite clear. Some say it came from the Malay word genggang, which means ajar – or separate – some also say the word gingham is derived from Guingamp in France which made the fabric. Today, it remains a classic and versatile pattern used in garments and home textiles.

We've utilized this enduringly classic and durable fabric to craft our latest tea towel, seamlessly infusing kitchen décor with a timeless touch of elegance.
