This Sicilian proverb “l’acqua mi vagna e ‘u vento m’asciuca” imagines the man standing impassively still while the water reaches him without wetting him, and so does the wind, highlighting the typical attitude of those who manage to remain impassive in the face of events, immobile even in the face of the worst ones.
